Iran's animation 'Nobody' grabs award in Colombia

Iran's short animation 'Nobody' grabs award at the Bogota's Animal Cinema Fest in Colombia.

Iran's short animation 'Nobody', directed by Elham Toroqi, has won the special jury award at this year's edition of the Bogota's Animal Cinema Fest in Colombia.

'Nobody' received the "Special Mention of the Jury" at the Bogota festival, which screens films about animals and is aimed to demonstrate the unjust treatment of animals.

The 9-minute animation, which features no dialogue, tells the story of a white cat living in city of black residents. The cat tries hard to get food but no one seems bothered to give any.

The flick has so far attended a number of international animation festivals, including the 22nd ANIMAC International Film Festival in Spain, the 11th ANIMANIMA International Animation Festival in Serbia, the 7th Tour International Film festival in Italy, the Animation Nights New York in the US, as well as the 8th Lift-Off Global Network Film Festival and the 1st Bute Street Film Festival in the UK.

The 1st Shenandoah Seasonal Film Festival in the US, the 15th Palace International Short Film Festival in Bulgaria, the 2nd Indie Best Films Festival in the US, the 5th Korca International Film Festival in Albania, and the 14th International Festival of Animated Films for Children in Slovakia are among the recent global experiences of ‘Nobody’.

The animation won a mention at the 2018 Florida Animation Festival in the US and has succeeded to win Special Jury Award at the 11th edition of the ANIMANIMA International Animation Festival in Serbia in 2017.

The 2018 edition of the Colombian event took place in Bogota from October 4 till November 1.
